IGBoston partnered with The BSA (Boston Society of Architects) Foundation for the Common Boston 2017 Festival! A program of the BSA Foundation, Common Boston 2017 (CB17) was a free open-house architecture and design festival inviting the public to discover the region’s rich architectural, cultural, and historic resources.

There were 3 parts to this festival.

Common Boston 2017 (#CB17)  June 3rd, 2017- June 4th, 2017   

More than 50 sites across the Greater Boston area, from innovative rooftop gardens to 300 year old houses to cutting-edge research labs, opened their doors to the public free of charge, allowing people to learn about the community spaces. A list (and PDF booklet) of participating sites are listed here.

Common Boston 2017 kick-off dParty: Utopian Visions June 2nd, 2017

Hosted at BSA Space alongside The New Inflatable Moment exhibition, the launch event featured utopian dreamscapes, an inflatable lounge, and tours by exhibition curator and past Common Boston chair, Mary Hale AIA. 

#CB17 Instagram Photo Contest June 2, 2017 - June 6 2017

By tagging @bsaaia, #CB17 and #igboston_cb17, different CB17 site visitors participated in a contest to photograph the dParty & Common Boston 2017 sites. 2 photos from IGBoston members @bob_canto & @_madickey_ were selected to promote the event on BSA and IGBoston websites & social media channels.
